Transparency in Pricing Decisions

Transparency in Pricing Decisions

Hi GOEX Family –

I know many of you have been in contact with your sales rep about the price increase we’re taking effective May 1st, but I wanted to share some more context, as I know budgets are tight and every dollar matters. I also know many companies are currently taking increases and blaming tariffs that don’t actually apply to them or that were reversed. I can assure you that we are not one of those companies!

So, why do we have to raise pricing, and why now?

As you may recall from some of what I shared last year, our entire supply chain collapsed in 2024. First, we had to close our factory in Haiti, and then our fabric supplier closed.  We held pricing through all of that, even with rapidly escalating costs, because we wanted to see how everything settled. We even accepted a couple of months last year with negative gross margins so that we could make solid decisions with solid information. We believe in transparency so you’re getting it today! 😊

Things are now largely settled, and fabric (the biggest portion of the garment cost) is about 25% higher. While the industry keeps cheapening fabrics and shrinking garments in order to keep costs down (see video below), we have chosen to continue to source high-quality fabrics and maintain fit so you can enjoy the same quality of garments you’ve come to love from GOEX and they’ll continue to look great wash after wash.

In addition to holding pricing while the supply chain settled, we have not taken a significant increase on garments since the fall of 2022. Since that time, we’ve seen about 10% total inflation in the US compounding in our increased costs of goods. Wages & benefits also grew by almost 15% during that same time frame. In Haiti, certain items like fuel doubled in price as well. All of this equates to a need to adjust our pricing to support our high levels of quality, service, and fair trade standards.

While we are adjusting garment pricing, we are holding pricing for print and services.

The last thing I want to share is that during the first quarter, our team completed deep dives on costing and on decoration processes with the goal of giving you the best pricing we can afford and the best service we can possibly deliver. We are committed to providing you with exactly what you ordered to the high standards you expect and deserve. Please, please review your order information carefully because we are committed to getting your order to you accurately and on time. You may notice some adjustments to proofs in order to provide additional clarity to you and the production team. If you do not get what you ordered, please let us know asap!

As always, thank you for your business. We rejoice with every order that comes in the door! Thank you for trusting us to create garments your teams and customers will love. It literally means the world to me and to our entire team!

With gratitude,
Jessica Ray, President GOEX Apparel
